LOCATION:

THE DRC IS LOCATED AT THE REGIONAL OFFICE, BAPATLA. THE DISTRICT HEAD QUARTERS IS 50 KMS AWAY FROM THE DRC. IT IS WELL CONNCTED BY ROAD AND RAIL TRANSPORT SYSTEM TO ALL OTHER MANDALS AND CITIES.

SELECTION OF MANDALS:

  • THREE MANDALS WERE SELECTED UNDER 100 VILLAGE IMPACT FOR DRC.
  • NAMELY, BAPATLA, KARLAPALEM AND NIZAMPATNAM.
  • KARLAPALEM AND NIZAMPATNAM ARE RURAL MANDALS, WHERE AS BAPATLA IS A MUNICIPALITY.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

  • THESE TWO MANDALS ARE WITHIN THE VICINITY OF 35 TO 40 KMS. FROM THE DRC.
  • THEY ALL ARE ON THE COASTAL BELT.
  • CYCLONE PRONE AREAS.
  • MOST OF THE FAMILIES PROFESSION IS FISHING AND AGRICULTURE.
  • MOST OF THEM BELONG TO LOW SOCIO ECONOMIC GROUPS.
  • DROPOUT CHILDREN AND MIGRANT LABOUR ARE ALSO IDENTIFIED IN THESE AREAS.
  • NEED TO PROVIDE GOOD AND QUALITY EDUCATION TO THE CHILDREN.

AIMS OF DRC:

  • TO PROVIDE GOOD AND QUALITY EDUCATION TO RURAL CHILDREN.
  • TO ENHANCE THEIR LEARNING LEVELS THROUGH SPECIALLY DESIGNED CURRICULUM AND METHODS.
  • PROVIDE GOOD LEARNING ENVIRONMENT.
  • TO DEVELOP A MODEL RESOURCE CENTRE IN THE DISTRICT.
  • TO IMPROVE READING, WRITING , COMPREHENSION AND ARITHMATIC SKILLS AMONG THE CHILDREN.

ROLE OF DRC FACULTY:

  • TO DEVELOP CURRICULUM.
  • TO TRAIN THE COORDINATORS AND VOLUNTEERS.
  • TO MONITOR AND SUPERVISE THE PROG.
  • TO TEACH THE CHILDREN .
  • TO ASSESS THE CHILDREN’S PERFORMANCE.

TRAININGS:
TRAINING WAS IMPARTED TO THE FACULTY AND COORDINATORS BY THE MASTER TRAINERS FROM 15TH TO 23RD JUNE.

MOBILIZATION:
MOBILIZATION OF VOLUNTEERS TOOK PLACE AFTER THE TRAINING.3 CLUSTER COORDINATORS WERE APPOINTED IN EACH DRC FOCUSSED BLOCKS. TOTALLY 12 CLUSTER COORDINATORS WERE APPOINTED.WHO WILL TEACH TO THE CHILDREN  OF THEIR OWN VILLAGE AND SHOULD MONITOR THE CLASSES OF VOLUNTEERS IN NEAR BY 10 VILLAGES.ALONG WITH MOBILIZATION, FACULTY MEMBERS STARTED TEACHING 6TH STD. CHILDREN IN KARLAPALEM VILLAGE ON PILOT BASIS.109 VOLUNTEERS ARE MOBILIZED IN THE FIRST PHASE.

BASELINE EVALUATION:
BASELINE EVALUATION WAS TAKEN PLACE IN DRC FROM AUG.3RD.AND COMPLETED BY 17TH AUG.BASELINE WAS CONDUCTED IN 25 SCHOOLS OF FOCUSSED BLOCKS AND IN 25 SCHOOLS OF NON FOCUSSED BLOCKS, WHICH ARE SELECTED RANDOMLY BY ASER.

VOLUNTEERS TRAINING:
VOLUNTEERS TRAINING WAS IMPARTED BY THE DRC FACULTY AND HEAD, TO THE VOLUNTEERS AND CLUSTER COORDINATORS AT BLOCK LEVEL. CDPOS, MEOS, MRPS, MLOS, AND HMS OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS WERE INVITED.

IMPLEMENTATION:

VOLUNTEERS ARE STRICTLY INSTRUCTED TO FOLLOW THE METHOD OF APAL.THEY ARE ASKED TO DO MIND MAPPING.FACULTY IS TAKING CLASSES AT MARUPROLUVARIPALEM A VILLAGE OF BAPATLA MANDAL. THEY ARE TEACHING AROUND 60 CHILDREN OF 6TH STD, DURING FORENOON HOURS AND MONITORING THE VOLUNTEERS CLASSES DURING EVENINGS.ONE OF THE NATIONAL OPERATIONAL TEAM MEMBERS VISITED THE CLASSES OF FACULTY .STATE HEAD VISITED THE PROG.
        
UNDER CAMAL COURSE WE ARE GOING TO START ADVANCED TEACHING METHODS COURSE SHORTLY. COMPUTER TRAINING CENTRE WAS ESTABLISHED UNDER DRC. AND STARTED TEACHING OF 50 CHILDREN OF 1TO 5 STD. ON FREE BASIS. NOW WE ARE OFFERING COURSES LIKE DCA, DTP, AND C++ FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS ON FEE BASE STRUCTURE. WE APPROACHED NEARLY 26  GOVT AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THIS REGARD.WE APPROACHED THE MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER,CDPOS,MEOS, MUNICIPALWARD MEMBERS, COLLEGE PRICIPALS AS A PART OF PUBLICITY.WE ARE READY TO OFFER THE COMPUTER TRAINING ON FREE BASIS FOR OUR UNPAID VOLUNTEERS.
 

FEEDBACK OF THE FACULTY:

  • CHILDREN ARE VERY MUCH INTERESTED IN  COLLECTING THE NEWS EVERYDAY.
  • THEY ARE VERY CURIOUS IN THE ACTIVITY “GALTI MAF SUDHARO TO SAHI”.[THAPPULU SARIDIDDUKO]
  • THEY ARE PREPARING NEW STORIES VERY INTERESTINGLY.BUT THEY ARE LESS INTERSESTED IN THE ACTIVITY ‘PATHA KATHA MANA NOTI THO’[PURANI KAHANI APNI JUBANI].
  • THEY ARE VERY ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTIVITIES LIKE ANTYAKSHARI WITH WORDS, PADA PRAPANCHAM, AND GAMES WITH LETTERS AND WORDS.
  • ALL THE CHILDREN ARE SHOWING INTEREST IN THISMETHODS OF LANGUAGE AND RETENTION OF THE SUBJECT MATTER IS ALSO REMARKABLE.
  • IN MATHS CHILDREN SHOWING INTEREST TOWARDS CURRENCY , STRAWS AND THEY ARE LEARNING EASILY

IN ENGLISH THEY ARE VERY INTERESTINGLY PARTICIPATING IN LEARNING OF RHYMES AND CHANTS. ON THE WHOLE THE METHODS ARE INTERESTING TO THE CHILDREN AND TUTORS.
