| Selection of Teachers: |
| With the help of Sarpanch, village education committee and SHG s we had selected some educated unemployed boys / girls those who passed 10th standard in their respective village. They were given charge to develop the under privilege children, by treating them as their children and providing them basic education whole heartedly. |
| Survey Training: |
| After selection of teachers they were provided two days training regarding population counting, situation of education and how to take pre test of every child in front of their parents.
|
| Survey |
| To know the educational position and other additional information, our teachers took the survey report of the village, and their children were tested in reading, writing, and Maths in front of their parents. The following are the pictures showing the above statement.
The survey was done by our volunteers in ten project villages (Kamalapuram, Mangapet, Borenarsapuram, Komatipally, Thondyala, Kothur, Buchampeta, Cherupally, Kothpeta, Ramnagar) of Mangapet Mandal where the program is to be imparted. The main aspect of the survey is to identify the total no of readers, no. of non readers and different age group children in respective villages. This is the base survey to start the programme. According to this survey based on no. of children, no. of houses in each village we decided the no. of classes
There in Mangapet Mandal we started Three Programmes
- Reading to Learn (R2L)
- Learning to Reading (L2R)
- Library
Total 65 centers were started in which 26 are R2L centers and 17 centers are L2R and 22 centers in Library. The material was also distributed to all the classes. The R2L, L2R and Libraries are working in the evening between 5:00 Pm to 8:00 Pm. |
| Selection of Students: |
After completion of the survey, the children those who are educationally backward, were taken in consideration .We took pretest in front of their parents and promised to make their children perfect with in 3 month. But we have a condition that your children must attend the classes regularly. |
| Teacher Training: |
There was a need for training and proper planning of teachers to complete the program successfully. Hence Pratham Mumbai Education Initiative has called up a resource person to provide training to R2L L2R and Libraries. This type of training is provided once in a year. To follow up the main training we are organizing monthly meeting for our teachers.

In L2R class we are taking 25-30 number of children who were in 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 levels In language, 0,1,2,3 in Math’s for the age group between 6 to 14 years. That means we are taking only non readers to develop the writing skills. The test was conducted to every class children, i.e., base line test at the starting of each class. Like that we will take test for each month up to 3 months of this programme. In the last month we will take the final test. At the end of the programme we compare the base line test and final test and the result was attained by comparing the two tests. Thus we can find how many children are changed as readers and how many children have improved their levels.
We focused on Reading, writing, Math’s levels. The following shows the various levels.
